FAQ
-
Do I need a preview?Yes, it’s best to do a preview (trial) if you’re the bride. Especially if we have never worked together before.
-
What should I bring/wear to my preview?I always suggest wearing a white top that is similar to the neckline of your dress. You should bring hair extensions if you’re wearing them. You may also bring the jewelry you’re wearing if you have it, and of course, any head piece and/ or veil. Lastly, I think it’s best to wear makeup so you can really slip into character.
-
Do you require a deposit?Yes. A $150 non-refundable deposit is required to hold your date. This deposit will be deducted from your day of hair. The only way the deposit is refundable is if I fall ill or if I have to cancel your appointment for an unexpected personal matter. Coming soon: I am in the process of having a contract drawn up by my attorney . For now, our emails serve as a record of our agreement to reference.
-
Are you available to stay after the hair is complete? After the touch-ups are complete, I can stay as long as you’d like based on a fee of $125.00 per hour. This also includes a quick style change if you would like one! If your location is close to my home, you can also opt to hire me to come back before the reception for touch-ups or style changes. Those rates will be determined by your needs and will incur a second travel fee as well.
-
Do you have a minimum head count? On Fridays and Saturdays, I have a six-adult minimum. On Sundays I have a 3 person minimum . This is for wedding services. Other special events with fewer people that do not require me to be on site for long periods of time can usually be acommodated.
-
Can you bring additional hairstylist? If your wedding party is greater than eight I will usually secure another stylist and/or assistant. There will be a $150 fee to bring an assistant, and extra travel fees will be added for additional stylists.
-
Can I purchase hair extensions through you?If you want top-quality and color matched, I can order your extensions through Bellami or you can do it on your own. I don’t get special pricing on this brand. If you prefer something a little less expensive, I can refer you to a beauty supply where they will help you choose a set.
-
Do you put on my veil?If your veil is going on by the time I’m doing touch-ups, I can do this. If you’re putting it on later, that does become a per-hour service. Otherwise I’m happy to show someone how to secure it and safety remove it later. Oftentimes you’ll have an attendant at the venue who is accustomed to working with veils.
-
Do you travel?Yes! I can travel up to 90 minutes from Bergen county for the day of or if you REALLY want me there we can discuss hotel accommodations.
